Alejandro Medina is a third generation musician in a family of singer-songwriters with musical roots grasped from Mediterranean and Caribbean traditions. Alejandro’s music is a fine blend of socially conscious Spanish Rock, Puerto Rican Pop-Rock and American Alternative. He is currently recording his first album scheduled to be released in Summer 2009.


Born and raised in Puerto Rico and coming from a family of musicians, I got interested in music very early in life. I learned how to play popular guitar from my father and my grandfather and at the age of eleven, I started formal musical instruction at the Public School of Arts in Carolina, PR where I learned how to play classical guitar, piano and vocalization. Leaving high school, I went on to play at various locations across my Island, opening concerts for artists such as Jarabe de Palo. After spending a few years in college studying computer science, I got fed up with the corporate ideals that flood our society and decided to do something about it. There was only one option: I packed my bags and took a trip to Chicago with no return ticket. I only took my guitar with me.

I grew up listening to Bon Jovi, Joan Manuel Serrat, Soda Stereo, Bee Gees and a lot of other artists.
