RUCCI MYLES BIO

Rucci Myles was born in 1980 on the south side of Chicago, IL. He is the fifth of nine children and was brought up in the Leclaire Courts housing project, and later raised in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood which had transformed from a thriving black metropolis to one of the hardest places to live in America.
With his mother’s household being a very religious environment, Rucci was taught to fear GOD and trust no man. As a child he was only exposed to Christian music. As a preteen he started to venture out into the world and experience different things, it was then that Rucci Myles was introduced to the west coast rap artist “D.O.C." and his debut album called ‘No One Can Do It Better'. The first rap song he ever heard 'Grand Finale' was uncut and uncensored and featured Ice Cube, M.C. Ren, Easy E, and D.O.C. He was completely blown away.
Around the same time he was introduced to hip-hop, he was also introduced to fast cash. When Rucci's family moved from the Leclaire Courts area to the Bronzeville area, they had a five bedroom apartment in what seemed like the middle of Hell. So growing up there he was always told about prostitutes, crack-heads, drugs, and guns and by the age of twelve years, he was exposed to it all. In those days all Rucci cared about were basketball and music and nothing else.

The landlord in Rucci's building abandoned his building leaving Rucci and his eight siblings with no water, no heat, ceiling caving in and rats feasting on everything. Tired of being poor, Rucci came up with plan that got him in the drug game at the tender age of twelve. Young Rucci had to live a double life at home and in the streets but this dual life managed to help him stay alive as he kept everything low key for five years. His only fear was getting his family involved. So as a teenager he took his product and made moves in several cities and states to get away from the home front. Unfortunately by the age of seventeen Rucci Myles was looking at a twelve year sentence. He served four and a half years in the joint and then hit the streets with a new attitude and a solid idea on how he wanted to live his life. Music was again his salvation.

In 2003 Rucci Myles met 1913 RECORDS C.E.O. Mr. Drama when he attended a recording session at Smokey's Studio in Chicago with one of his old homies. At the session it was Rucci who stood out with his freestyling ability and smooth rhyme flow. His talents were immediately noticed by the 1913 Record executives in attendance. After being sent home that night with the instructions to make his great rhymes and poetry into demo songs, Rucci Myles knew right then what his new life mission was and that was to share his life story in song through the voice of HIP-HOP and RAP ( Rap And Poetry). Several months later Rucci Myles was signed to a developmental deal with 1913 Records but would be over a year before Rucci had developed enough to convince 1913 Records to sign him to a term recording contract.

Rucci Myles' first CD titled 'PROLIFIC' is a look into the life and times of one of the most talented artist in Hip-Hop.
